What is Margin Balance?

For new users who have never opened positions, the Margin Balance is simply the sum of all your deposited assets, shown in the value of US dollars (NOT USDC). Symmetry supports USDC, WBTC and WETH deposits. All deposits will be combined, calculated and shown under Margin Balance.

For users with open positions, Margin Balance is the total deposit value combined with the trading P&L. For example, Alice initially deposited $1000 worth of USDC and made a net profit of $100 by longing BTC. Her Margin Balance then becomes $1100.

What is margin ratio and how is it calculated?

Symmetry's built-in 25x leverage position allows users to easily open positions with their maximum buying power whenever they want to, hassle-free. Margin Ratio helps users manage their overall portfolio better and keep track of their positions' leverage status to avoid liquidation.

"I can't be bothered to go through the math":

Monitor your margin ratio carefully, especially when the market is highly volatile, to avoid liquidation! Liquidation happens when the margin ratio exceeds 100%.

How frequently do charts on the Dashboard update?

All charts are designed to be updated in real-time. There might be a slight delay depending on traffic on chain.

What is the USDC Debt Interest APR and why am I seeing this?

As all fees are settled in USDC, the notification shows when your USDC deposits (netting the overall PnL) is not enough to cover the outstanding fees. This notification is more likely to show when existing positions have funding fees accumulating.
